Evaluation / Grading:
Make-Up Work/Test
Students have 3 days to make up work for the first day absent. If more than one day is missed in the roll, one day will be added for each extra day missed. Make-up work is to be done at home not during class time. If my help is needed I can help you during breakfast in the cafeteria.
Make–up test have to be made up before or after school, not during class time!
School Supplies needed by the student: a 3 rings binder, lose leaf papers, & pen and/or pencil.
Material needed each day:
French book, Chromebook, a 3 rings binder, lose leaf papers, & pen and/or pencil. The workbook provided by the school will stay in the room at all time. A French-English dictionary is available for use in the classroom and can be checked out with my permission.
Classroom Procedure:
We will begin most days by review the previous day’s material or start a new chapter’s lesson. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of class. If tardy, I will expect a note from the office. NO exception!

Awards
The Foreign Language club at the end of the school year gives awards. Students with a final average of 93 + receive a certificate & a pin. The student with the highest average wins a trophy in addition to the above.

- Grade that count once: worksheets, workbook, classroom participation, classroom behavior, homework assignment and extra credit activities.
- Grades that count twice: Tests, calendar poster, and special project such as collage.

Class Rules
- Be in your seat with your material and ready to work when the tardy bell rings.
- You will have assigned seats.
- Absolutely no talking during teacher instruction.
- Work on assignments throughout class, wasting time will not be permitted.
- At the end of class daily, wait in your seat to be dismissed.
- Restroom visit will be kept to a minimum.
- Anybody who leaves the room must fill in the Hall Pass.

Syllabus

- French alphabet & Number 1 to 1000.
- Vocabulary words: greeting & goodbyes, how is someone doing, classroom’s items & expressions, introduction to someone, likes & dislikes, teens’ activities, family members, physical description, friends, likes & dislikes age, food & drinks, money “Euro”, days& months, weathers & seasons.
- Grammar: genders/numbers, definite & indefinite articles, adjective agreement, possessive adjective, emotions, subject pronouns and negative form.
- Verbs: être, -er ending regular verbs, avoir, faire
- Prepositions: à & de
- How to ask question and interrogation words.
